As this was the second project for the client, I could lean on an established workflow and pre‑made assets, making the turnaround faster.
The approach this time for the 3D animation was different. Instead of simulating and baking physics, log animations were driven by activating moving keyframes and procedural noise. This allowed for easier iteration and no need for plugins.
The live shoot of the machine was scheduled for next month, so I had only technical specifications to work from. Because the animation had to finish ahead of the on‑location shoot, we coordinated with the client’s Creative Lead and locked in a seamless camera path that matched the live footage.
